Inter Milan president issues ‘hands off’ warning to Man City and Chelsea

first_imgManchester City and Chelsea may be forced to switch their attentions elsewhere after Inter Milan President Erick Thohir issued a hands-off warning for influential forward Mauro Icardi and said he will not be sold during the summer.Icardi has been one of the star performers in Italy this season scoring 18 goals and has attracted strong interest from both Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho. Both managers are keen to strengthen their forward lines and were hoping that the prolific forward could be tempted by a big money move into the Premier League. But Thohir insists Icardi will not be going anywhere at the end of the season and he remains a key part of their long-term plans.Thohir, speaking in Corriere della Sera, said:  “We won’t sell Icardi, he’s one of our most important players.“Often money can cause problems, but not for him as he has his head firmly on his shoulders. We are working towards an agreement for a contract renewal, it’s important that he stays with us.” 1 Mauro Icardi in action for Inter Milan last_img read more
