Rabat – The mother of the Palestinian 18-month-old toddler who was burned to death in an arson attack last month by Israeli settlers in the West Bank died on Monday. Riham Dawabsheh, 28, the mother of Ali Dawabsheh, is the third victim to die of the attack after her husband succumbed to his injuries one week after the attack.Suspected Jewish extremists set fire to the Dawabsheh home in the village of Duma on July 31, killing baby Ali on the spot. The infant’s parents and his four-year-old brother were also injured when the father reportedly saved the life of his wife and the 4-year-old, but couldn’t make it to Ali. Nasser Dawabsheh, Riham’s brother-in-law, told Anadolu Agency by phone that doctors in Israel’s Sheba Medical Center, where she had been receiving treatment, had announced Riham’s death at dawn, adding that his sister’s funeral will be in Duma. “Riham has left us forever, following her family,” he told Anadolu Agency. “We will miss her; her orphaned son will miss her,” he said. “May Allah have mercy on her soul.”At a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in Cairo after the attack, Arab foreign ministers agreed to call upon the United Nations to protect Palestinians from “terrorist crimes” by Jewish settlers.
